Congressman Huelskamp Greets Kansas Honor Flight

(WASHINGTON) - On Wednesday morning, Kansas First District Congressman Tim Huelskamp greeted an Honor Flight of 28 World War II Veterans from Kansas. The Honor Flight program is a national initiative to help WWII Veterans to see the WWII Memorial in Washington, D.C. Private donors fund these trips, including airfare, ground transportation, and accommodations. Former U.S. Senator Bob Dole of Kansas was instrumental in helping to add a WWII Memorial to the National Mall.

"Our World War II veterans answered the call of service to our nation, and established a tradition of military excellence, bravery, and sacrifice," Congressman Huelskamp said. "They certainly earned the title 'Greatest Generation,' and it is humbling to be able to see them as they honor and remember those who served alongside them. It is truly a privilege to have the opportunity to greet them at their memorial."

"In addition to thanking our veterans, I want to thank all of the volunteers and donors who help make Honor Flights possible."
